A Beetlejuice

Writer's picture: Patrick TeatePatrick Teate

Ingredients:

1 ounce vodka

1/2 ounce melon liqueur (like Midori)

1/2 ounce raspberry liqueur (like Chambord)

1/2 ounce blue curacao

1 1/2 ounces cranberry juice

Ice

Garnish:

Garnish with beetle, if desired from Newport Jerky Company

Step-By-Step:

Fill a double old-fashioned glass with ice. To the glass add the vodka, melon liqueur, raspberry liqueur, blue curaçao, and sweet & sour. The drink should be a really pretty green color. Pour the cranberry juice on top of the drink. You can let the juice float or stir it in for a creepy color change.

Serve with black & white striped straws and say Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice!

Book Pairing: Ender's Game (Reviewed on October 7th, 2021)

Ender's Game is all about child genius Ender fighting off a legion of "buggers" to save the human race. What he doesn't realize is the bugs didn't know what was going on and it was all a huge misunderstanding. That's not gonna be good enough for the adults of the world though. Russia is also known for its vodka and that's the side quest in Ender's Game due to its 1980s release roots. Try Beetlejuice and see if you can handle a bit of forgiveness in your life before you wipe the bugs (read Commies) from the galaxy.
